Damas is committed to the continuous improvement process, education and training to create a culture of attaining the highest standards of Health, Safety, Welfare, Security, Community Relations and Environmental awareness amongst all of its staff and business associates.
Damas proposes to use Nigerian personnel for almost all aspect of the Work. Some key personnel shall be selected from the present pool of highly qualified managers, supervisors and skilled personnel available, while the shortfall shall be sourced through advert and local communities. Each candidate will be selected based on each individual proven capability in previous projects similar in nature to the proposed project.
As a corporate organization, Damas Oil and Marine Services Limited is uniquely placed to facilitate the high degree of the involvement of Nigerians by virtue of the oil & gas industry support infrastructure owned and operated in the oil producing regions in Nigeria.
In addition to the corporate level of management involved, Damas is committed to the recruitment and training of Nigerian staff required to perform the relevant tasks. This would be facilitated by the extensive recruitment and training programme already in place, which is currently bringing indigenous staff into positions usually associated with expatriate staff.
By virtue of the Nigerian content of the contracting entity, Damas, as a company has a profound understanding of the indigenization goals and the means to achieve the highest level of Nigerian Content. It is the view of this contracting entity that the vision for meaningful national content and indigenization objectives for projects, and the strategies by which they may be achieved, should emanate from Nigerians from the region concerned.
To this end, Damas has set out the objectives, which maximizes the Nigerian content and provides the most long-term benefits to the indigenous population without compromising the operational efficiency and technical integrity of the project. This contracting entity is such that the proposed plans for indigenization and Nigerian input into the project are realistically cast and would provide meaningful benefits to the Nigerian Oil & Gas Industry.
Damas further believes that these goals and attainment plans will set new standards in indigenous involvement in Oil & Gas industry in Nigeria that is wholly in tune with the policies and ambitions of the Nigerian Government, NNPC and its Joint Venture Partners, and the oil producing companies.
